Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj is visiting Pakistan to participate in the Heart of Asia conference on Afghanistan.
On arrival, she signalled a new phase in India-Pakistan ties and said, “The message that I have come with is that India-Pakistan ties should become much better and should move forward.” She also spoke on the need to combat terror jointly, praising the efforts of the Afghan national security forces in combating extremism. “Terror hubs shouldn't be allowed anywhere,” she said. The U.S. State Department hailed the revival of talks, with its spokesperson saying that the “normalisation of relations” is vital to both countries and the region.
