Egypt reportedly held talks with Israel to explore Tel Aviv’s “readiness for complete withdrawal” from Gaza. Cairo has reportedly come up with a three-stage plan which involves renewable ceasefire, staggered hostage release and ultimately end to the war. The development comes as Hamas has repeatedly rejected Israel’s temporary truce offer, and has instead talked of “comprehensive halt” to the war.
