In a surprising twist, when Russia sent six SU-30SME fighter jets to Myanmar, it received six elephants in return, as per several reports. The elephants will reportedly be part of Great Moscow State Circus. It remains unclear if the elephants were part of an official payment by Myanmar to Russia or if they remain a symbolic gesture, signifying the two nations’ 75-year long diplomatic ties. Moscow-Naypyidaw have deepened their relationship in the past couple of years under their junta leader, who has inked several deals with Putin. One of the deals include the supply of Russian fighter aircraft that has provided a boost to Myanmar’s air defense capabilities. Watch the video for more.
