Lakhimpur Kheri ‘victim’ Virk joins SP; Akhilesh takes ‘Anna Sankalp’

After the 'exodus' in BJP ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, in which several leaders joined the Samajwadi Party, now it's the turn of farmer leaders. Farmer leader Tajindar Singh Virk, who was injured in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in October 2021, joined the party in the presence of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav. "He is with us. He was targeted and nearly crushed in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident," Yadav said. At the press conference, Akhilesh Yadav, Tajindar Virk and other SP leaders took the Anna Sankalp and pledged to defeat the BJP in the upcoming polls. Akhilesh Yadav also made several promises for farmers that will be included in the SP manifesto which will be released after the BJP reveals their manifesto. Watch for more details.
