A sculpture by Jeff Koons created a record by fetching the highest ever price for the work of a living artist at an auction. Koons' 'Rabbit', made in 1986, was auctioned for $ 80 million, but the price went up to over $ 91 million including commission and fees. Koons broke the record previously held by British artist David Hockney. His 1972 'Portrait of an Artist' fetched $ 90.3 million at Christie's in a 2018 auction.
