Maduro's minister mocks Americans as 'largest drug consumers' amid Trump's 'war' plan| Venezuela

Published on Nov 08, 2025 10:09 am IST

Venezuela’s Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello accused the United States of weaponizing narratives about “terrorism” and the “Cartel of the Suns” to justify political and military aggression. Cabello dismissed US claims about Venezuela’s role in drug trafficking, highlighting Colombia and the US as the true hubs for cartels and money laundering. He condemned recent American military raids in Caribbean waters as summary executions, urging international scrutiny of US conduct. Cabello argued that Washington’s hostility is driven by Venezuela’s oil, gold, and gas and denounced the US naval buildup—including aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines—as acts of intimidation. He warned Venezuelans to prepare for all scenarios, echoing President Maduro’s approval of plans for “prolonged active resistance” against possible American aggression.
