Maldives’ Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem, who was appointed by the previous government, fractured his left hand in a stabbing attack. The attack came after the ruling coalition warned the opposition against bringing a no-confidence motion against President Mohamed Muizzu. Ex-President Mohamed Solih, who now sits in the opposition and had appointed the Prosecutor General, called the attack “politically motivated”.
