Moscow survives Kyiv’s drone swarm, then Putin launches revenge strike on Ukraine’s Danube lifeline

Russia has launched a major overnight strike on Ukraine’s vital Danube port network after Moscow claimed its forces downed a record 1,478 Ukrainian drones within 24 hours. The attack hit infrastructure around Izmail, a crucial gateway for Ukrainian trade near the Romanian border, damaging a civilian vessel and injuring four people. Moscow also claimed its forces targeted a military cargo terminal, hangars containing Western equipment and depots storing Ukrainian naval drones. With Izmail helping keep Kyiv connected to global markets, is Putin now trying to squeeze one of Ukraine’s most important wartime lifelines?
