At least nine people were killed and seven others injured after a major fire broke out at a suspected illegal firecracker manufacturing unit on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on July 18. The blaze erupted around 3:30 pm at New Fire Works, located on Ramol-Gatrad Road near Vastral. The factory was allegedly being operated by Mehul Dodiya, according to police officials. A preliminary investigation suggested that a spark generated while explosive materials were being handled may have triggered the blast. However, authorities said the exact cause would be established after a detailed investigation.
