A year after the Air India Flight 171 crash, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is expected to release an interim statement on its ongoing investigation on June 12, marking the first anniversary of the tragedy. The interim statement is being issued to fulfil India's obligations under international aviation conventions, while the final investigation report is still awaited. According to reports, the AAIB has been awaiting the results of an engine analysis, which has delayed the completion of the final report.
