Army Completes Pinaka Trials: 1st Made-In-India rockets by pvt firm in service

The Indian army has successfully completed trials for Pinaka rockets. These enhanced range rockets are indigenously developed and manufactured. The successful trials of Pinaka rockets comes as a major success for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts for 'Make In India'. The trials of the new Pinaka rockets were done extensively at Balasore and Pokhran over the last couple of weeks. This is the first time that rockets by the private sector have been accepted for service since defence manufacturing has now been opened to non-governmental players. The advanced rockets will help replace imports from Russia and would be offered by India to friendly nations for exports. Watch this report for more.
