India has strongly rejected the U.S.' remarks on the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Ministry of External Affairs labelled the comments "misplaced, misinformed and unwarranted". MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal asserted that the act is the country's internal matter. India's response comes after the U.S. linked the implementation of CAA in India to "religious freedom".
