- New satellite images have indicated that China has constructed a third village, 9 kms east of the Doklam plateau on the Bhutanese side. NDTV in collaboration with Maxar Technologies has released pictures that expose China's extensive land grab in Bhutan with a neatly marked, all-weather carriageway alongside the village that could give People's Liberation Army access to a strategic ridge in the Doklam plateau. In 2017, Indian and Chinese armies were locked in a 73-day stand-off at the Doklam tri-junction. The stand-off took place after China tried to construct a road in the area on the Bhutanese side.
