Congress apologised after facing criticism for not featuring former education minister Maulana Azad in the advertisement for the 85th plenary session. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh called the mistake an "inexcusable slipup" and promised action. Asaduddin Owaisi's party, AIMIM, questioned Congress' "secularism" for including former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao in the ad. AIMIM said the former Prime Minister played a key role in the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya in 1992. Ghulam Nabi Azad, who had parted ways with Congress, also took a jab, saying that "BJPisation" is taking place in his former party after his exit.
