- Bharat Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait distanced himself from the violent incidents that took place in Delhi on Republic Day. He said that those who created violence and unfurled flags at Red Fort have to pay for their deeds. Violence marred parts of Delhi including ITO and Red Fort during agitating farmers’ tractor parade. Tikait also spoke on the viral video where he was seen urging supporters to be armed with lathis. Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) called off 'Kisan R-Day Parade' on Tuesday evening following violence. SKM, an umbrella body coordinating the agitation, urged farmers to return to their respective protest sites. Delhi Police said it has so far registered 22 FIRs in connection with the violence.
