‘Even Kamakhya temple will be encroached upon’: Himanta Sarma; Owaisi hits back

- Assam Chief Minister Himanta BIswa Sarma stirred a controversy when he linked rising cases of land encroachment with population explosion, especially among the Muslim population. ‘If the population explosion continues, one day even the Kamakhya temple land will be encroached upon,’ Himanta Biswa Sarma said. Remember, the BJP had constantly stressed on protecting the indigenous communities of Assam against Muslim infiltrators in the run up to polls in the state.
