The Government of India has extended central excise duty exemptions on petrol blended with higher levels of ethanol, including 22%, 25%, 27% and 30% ethanol blends, according to an official notification issued on June 10. The notification stated that fuel blends conforming to Bureau of Indian Standards specifications will continue to attract a nil excise duty rate, supporting the government's push towards cleaner and more sustainable fuel options.
