Farm law repeal: Slogans, protest as Parliament approves scrapping of laws

Day 1 of the Parliament's Winter Session saw dramatic scenes as Opposition members protested inside the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha as the two Houses took up the farm law repeal bill. Both the Upper and Lower Houses approved scrapping of the 3 contentious laws, even as the Opposition demanded a detailed discussion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently announced the government's intention to revoke the laws since a 'group of farmers' weren't convinced, and were protesting for over a year.
