‘India Need Not Worry’:Nirmala Sitharaman tables Economic Survey ahead of Budget

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Economic Survey 2023 in the Parliament ahead of the Union Budget. The Economic Survey says the economic growth is forecast to be 6.5% in fiscal 2024 compared to 7% in the current fiscal. The Economic Survey has pegged India's baseline GDP growth between 6-6.8% for FY24. Tabling the pre-budget document, the Finance Minister said that the survey found India will remain the fastest-growing major economy, despite a projected lower GDP growth. India's Chief Economic Advisor also said that the economy's pandemic recovery is complete.
