Indian-Americans set record in U.S midterm polls as five elected to the House

• A record five Indian-American lawmakers from the ruling Democratic party have been elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in the mid-term polls. Entrepreneur-turned-politician Shri Thanedar has joined the four existing Indian-American lawmakers, Ami Bera, Raja Krishnamoorthi, Ro Khanna, and Pramila Jayapal, who have won their seats again. Previously, only four Indian-Americans served in the United States House of Representatives, but Shri Thanedar's victory brings the total to a record five.
