India's BrahMos supersonic missiles get maiden buyer in Philippines

India has bagged a $374 million contract to supply BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines. This deal could pave way for more defence contracts with the Philippines and other ASEAN countries. The defence deal is unlikely to go down well with China but Beijing's aggressive behaviour in the disputed South China Sea has taken relations with the Philippines to a fresh low forcing the country to beef up its defence.
