External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar schools the West on the ideals of democracy and civil liberties amid Khalistani attacks on Indian diplomatic missions abroad. He said that 'civil liberties' can't be used to justify 'radicalism, terrorism and violence' in a democratic country. His statement came at a time when there has been a surge in pro-Khalistan 'protests' in countries like U.S., UK and Canada. In the name of protests, Khalistani separatists forces have resorted to vandalism and violence at Indian consulate and embassies in cities like London and Washington. India has asked the govts in these countries to reign in the anti-India forces and ensure the protection of Indian diplomats so they can do their duty.
