Lakhimpur Kheri deaths: FIR on minister's son, Rs. 45 lakh ex-gratia to kin

A day after 8 people including four farmers were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri, U.P government and farmer unions have reached a settlement following 5 rounds of talks. As per the agreement, U.P police have added the name of union minister Ajay Mishra's son in the FIR of the incident and promised to take action against all guilty persons. A judicial probe has been announced by the U.P government while the kin of the deceased will Rs. 45 Lakh ex-gratia as well as a government job. The talks were led by Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Rakesh Tikait and top officials and police officers of Uttar Pradesh. The farmers also agreed to cremate the dead after the settlement was finalised. Watch this report for more.
