Maha Guv clarifies after Gujaratis row snowballs; CM tells him ‘to be careful’

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Kohiyari is facing flak for his remarks, where he claimed that Mumbai would no longer remain the financial capital if people from Gujarat and Rajasthan were taken out. The governor has now issued a clarification saying that he had no intention of underestimating the Marathi man. "I spoke only on the contribution made by the Gujarati and Rajasthani Mandals to business. But as usual my statement was distorted. Marathi people's hard work has contributed the most in the construction of Maharashtra. Lately the vision of seeing everything through political glasses has developed, we have to change that. Appreciating one community is never an insult to another community," said Koshiyari. CM Eknath Shinde has made it clear that he does not support governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari’s speech as the opposition claimed the governor had insulted Maharashtrians. “The governor has his own personal views but we won't support his statements. We will never forget Mumbaikars, and the contribution of Marathi people to Mumbai,” the chief minister said. Watch this video for more details.
