Monsoon: Alarm in Maharashtra as rains still evade west India? Watch cloud coverage over the nation

Nearly two weeks after the southwest monsoon arrived in Kerala, rainfall remains uneven across India, with several western states still waiting for sustained showers despite widespread rain in other parts of the country. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Maharashtra has received only 26% of its normal rainfall in the first half of June. Meanwhile, satellite imagery indicates that while the Bay of Bengal branch of the monsoon is active over eastern and northeastern India, the Arabian Sea branch has weakened, leading to intermittent rainfall across western India instead of continuous downpours.
