Putin's new secretive 'Filin' cruise missile with US tech twist?

Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, HUR, revealed details of Russia’s reported Filin cruise missile on October 22, releasing a 3D model and information about its components and onboard electronic systems. Ukrainian intelligence said Russia began using the weapon in the war toward the end of summer 2026, describing it as part of Moscow’s cheaper, jet-powered, ground-launched arsenal. According to the specifications disclosed, the Filin measures 3.5 metres in length, has a three-metre wingspan, reaches a reported speed of 800 kilometres per hour and has a range of around 1,200 kilometres. Its warhead reportedly weighs either 50 or 100 kilograms, depending on the configuration.
