Police fired tear gas and charged protesters at the end of a march in eastern Paris on October 31, 2026, to disperse crowds gathered near Porte de Charenton. Demonstrators were seen fleeing tear gas and climbing onto a tram stop and a nearby sports club. The protests brought together students, trade unions and Yellow Vest demonstrators raising concerns over the cost of living, high fuel prices and inflation. According to France's Interior Ministry, 320,000 people took part in demonstrations nationwide.
