Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the police action against student protesters. Gandhi said the Opposition was not interested in hearing a “lecture” from the Home Minister and demanded answers over the alleged use of force against students. Questioning who ordered the firing and the alleged lathi-charge on protesters, Gandhi asked whether Amit Shah had authorised the action and said that, if so, the Home Minister should resign. He also accused Shah of being absent from Parliament and said the Home Minister should come to the House and answer questions.
