- In a big setback to the Congress party, former Union Minister and key member of the party’s team in Uttar Pradesh Jitin Prasada has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Prasada, who was considered to be a close aide of Rahul Gandhi said that BJP is the only true party which functions as an institution and is not individual centric. He further added that there is no point of being involved in politics if they cannot help the people they represent. Prasada was also a part of the ‘G-23’ or a group of 23 Congress leaders who had written to party chief Sonia Gandhi last year calling for sweeping reforms in the party.
