Former JNU student leader Kanhaiya Kumar has deserted Communist Party of India and joined Congress in the national capital. Kanhaiya, who unsuccessfully contested 2019 Lok Sabha elections on CPI ticket, met Rahul Gandhi at Congress headquarters and was later formally inducted into the party. Kanhaiya said he was joining Congress because he believed that only it can save the idea of India and constitution. He also took potshots at PM and RSS, virtually accusing them of espousing the ideology of Mahatama Gandhi's killer Nathuram Godse. Watch this report for more.
