PM Modi Inaugurates Z-Morh Tunnel In Sonmarg | How This Will Help Indian Forces Counter China & Pak

PM Narendra Modi inaugurated Z-Morh Tunnel in Sonmarg on January 13, 2025. The Z-Morh tunnel is a key transport route that is also significant. The 6.5 km long, two-lane tunnel is situated on the Srinagar-Leh Highway and will provide connectivity to Ladakh as well as Sonmarg. It has been built at a cost of Rs. 2,680 crore and situated at an altitude of 8,650 feet above sea level. From defence perspective, Ladakh borders both China and Pakistan and the Z-Morh tunnel is expected to reduce the reliance on air transport for movement of military personnel, weapons and supplies.
