Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Yad Vashem, Israel’s World Holocaust Remembrance Center, during the second day of his official trip to Israel. Accompanied by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan, the visit marked a solemn and symbolic moment in India–Israel relations. PM Modi paid homage to the six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust and laid a wreath at the memorial, reaffirming India’s commitment to remembering the victims of one of history’s darkest chapters. Chairman Dani Dayan personally led the delegation through the memorial complex, highlighting the historical significance and educational mission of the institution. Established in 1953, Yad Vashem stands as Israel’s official memorial to the Jewish victims of Nazi persecution and serves as a global center for documentation, research, and remembrance. The visit underscored the shared values of humanity, remembrance, and the resolve to combat hatred and extremism. It also reflected the deepening strategic and moral partnership between India and Israel.
