Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the international community to ensure the safety of global maritime routes and protect seafarers while addressing the G7 Outreach Session in Évian, France, seated alongside US President Donald Trump. His remarks came days after a US strike on a merchant vessel off the coast of Oman killed three Indian sailors. Stressing the importance of maritime security, Modi said sea lanes must remain safe and seafarers should be able to carry out their work without fear. He added that India is ready to work with global partners to strengthen maritime safety and stability.
