Viral video: Alleged snatcher kicked, thrashed by Kolkata police civic volunteer

A video of a Kolkata police civic volunteer thrashing an alleged snatcher has gone viral on social media. The man was seen being pinned down and kicked by the volunteer, Tanmay Biswas. Kolkata police commissioner Soumen Mitra said that such behaviour by a member of his force was not expected. He said that the volunteer has been demobilised and an inquiry instituted.
