'Not ready to accept...': After Modi meet, Omar, Mehbooba raise demands

- PM Modi chaired an all-party meeting with leaders of Jammu & Kashmir on Thursday. Mainstream politicians from J&K pushed for restoration of the region's special status. Leaders underlined problems with delimitation, and demanded reinstatement of full statehood. National Conference leader Omar Abdullah, Peoples Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti, Congress' Ghulam Nabi Azad among others reacted to the key meeting. All leaders, however, commended the cordial environment of the all-party meeting. This was the first such outreach by the Union govt since scrapping of special status in August 2019.
