'Where are 24 missing BJP MLAs?': TMC's jibe sparks defection rumours in Bengal

A comment by a Trinamool Congress leader has sparked speculation that a large chunk of Bharatiya Janata Party legislators in West Bengal might switch sides. The remark came after Suvendu Adhikari led a delegation of 50 BJP MLAs to meet Governor Jagdeep Dhankar. The BJP legislators accused the ruling TMC of post-poll violence. In response, TMC MP Sudip Banerjee asked the BJP why 2 dozen of its MLAs didn't attend the meeting. Recently, BJP leader Mukul Roy re-joined the TMC, which he had quit in 2017.
