IIT Bombay has suspended Professor Suryanarayana Doolla from his deanship with immediate effect amid an investigation into the death by suicide of a second-year BTech student. The decision was communicated by IIT Bombay Director Shireesh Kedare, who said further action would be taken after the investigation. Doolla was reportedly invigilating the examination on September 18 when the student was allegedly caught using a mobile phone during the exam.
