- After Supreme Court verdict on Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi ended centuries-long land dispute in Ayodhya, the BJP in Uttar Pradesh been increasingly raising the issue of Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna. Among those in BJP who are vociferously raising the issue is none other than Uttar Pradesh deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. He believes that Muslims in Uttar Pradesh will not agitate over the issue of Mathura and that state's law and order machinery will not let anyone launch an agitation on the lines of farmer protests.
