- The United States is non-committal about waiving or imposing sanctions on India under CAATSA law for India's S-400 air defence missile system deal with Russia. In response to a question after 2+2 dialogue, U.S Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that the U.S has not made any decision yet on the sanctions. Blinken acknowledged the deep ties India and Russia have and said that the United States wants to have a similar security partnership with India. He also urged all nations to halt weapons transactions with Russia in view of the sanctions imposed on Moscow amid an ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
