Days after N. Biren Singh resigned as Manipur Chief Minister, the Central Government imposed President's rule in the north-eastern state. Biren Singh resigned on February 09, after 21 months of recurring violence in the state. At least 200 people have been killed and over 50,000 people have been displaced.
