Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it has shot down another US MQ-1 drone over the Strait of Hormuz using a new air-defence system, releasing footage it says documents the engagement. Tehran also rejected CENTCOM’s account of regional shipping conditions, calling American claims “100% lies.” The alleged incident comes amid heightened military tension around one of the world’s most strategic maritime chokepoints, where US surveillance operations, Iranian missile defences, naval deployments and commercial shipping security remain under intense scrutiny. INTERNATIONAL NEWS examines the claim, the footage, the possible system involved, and the wider strategic implications.
