On TV, Saudi-backed Yemeni leader's desperate plea as Houthis make rapid gains?

Yemen’s Saudi-backed leader Rashad al-Alimi has called for a renewed military campaign against the Iran-aligned Houthi movement, as fighting intensifies and the strategic city of Taiz faces growing pressure. In a televised address, al-Alimi urged government forces to retake Houthi-held territory and restore state authority across Yemen. The appeal comes as Houthi fighters make advances around Taiz, tightening pressure on supply routes and worsening an already severe humanitarian crisis. Saudi Arabia has stepped up military operations amid repeated Houthi missile and drone attacks on critical infrastructure. Meanwhile, Iran has offered to facilitate talks between Riyadh and the Houthis. Could the latest battlefield shifts force Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to reconsider his strategy?
