Pakistan sparked online ridicule after Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry questioned why Indian military officials spoke in English during a press conference marking the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. His remark — “Who asked you to speak in English?” — quickly went viral, with social media users mocking the response as bizarre and evasive. During the briefing, Pakistan again called India’s 2025 Operation Sindoor “unprovoked,” while India reiterated that the strikes targeted terror infrastructure after the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians. Indian officials also claimed major damage to Pakistani airfields, terror camps, and aircraft during the four-day military confrontation last year.
