At the 5th International Congress of Young Scientists in Sirius, President Vladimir Putin hails the event’s growth to about 8,000 participants from over 100 countries as proof that Russia can still build a global scientific community despite Western restrictions. He stresses that the forum’s true purpose is to create an open space for communication, exchange of ideas, and new contacts in science, which he says – like art and sport – should stand above politics.
