Bahrain and Kuwait secretly carried out strikes on Iranian drone and missile sites in early July, according to a Wall Street Journal report, marking what it described as the first direct military retaliation by the two Gulf states against Iran. The report also said the UAE provided intelligence support and defensive air cover, while Saudi Arabia is reassessing its military posture after earlier operations. The alleged strikes come as Iran has intensified attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, raising fears that the Gulf conflict is entering a far more dangerous phase.
