- A massive political fight has erupted over ED raids on Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi’s nephew – Bhupinder Singh. The Enforcement Directorate raids conducted multi-city raids across Punjab yesterday. In the raids that concluded today, the ED has seized ₹10 crore in cash and gold worth ₹21 lakh. The raids are in connection to a 2018 FIR by Punjab police over illegal sand mining. Charanjit Singh Channi has now lashed out at the BJP and claimed that the party was taking revenge on him ahead of the assembly elections due to the fiasco during PM’s security breach. He also called it a planted exercise and slammed the bid to allegedly target and frame him in the case. He said SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia against whom a case had been registered under the NDPS Act and former chief minister Amarinder Singh were behind the latest ED raids. Even Delhi CM and AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal lashed out at Channi and called him a sand thief. Watch for more details.
