Scott Bessent reveals ‘big, big part’ of Trump-Xi deal, China to buy 12 million tons of US soybean

China’s state-owned grain trader COFCO has purchased three cargoes of U.S. soybeans, marking the country’s first imports from this year’s American harvest, according to two trade sources. The move comes just ahead of a planned summit between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese leader Xi Jinping, amid ongoing trade tensions and tariff disputes.
