S Vijay Kumar, co-founder of the India Pride Project talks about the ownership of stolen items. Kumar said “restitution” and not “gifted” or “stolen” is the right word used for artifacts brought back to the country. “The source nation, when it proves that it has been illegally removed after 1970, it has 30 days to refute our claim or the artifacts are forfeit to India,” Kumar said. “A Biden or a Bush did us no favor by returning these artifacts,” Kumar added.
