CWG: Indian 'khiladis’ shine at Birmingham; India at 5th spot with 55 medals

It was a medal rush for India on the penultimate day of Commonwealth Games at Birmingham. With 15 medals on Sunday, India was ranked among the top 5 nations as per medals tally. So far, India has won 18 gold, 15 silver and 22 bronze medals, totalling to 55. Not only did the Indian athletes add to the medal tally, but it also included a whopping 5 gold medals -- Sharath Kamal/Sreeja Akula (Mixed Doubles TT), Nikhat Zareen (Boxing), Eldhose Paul (Men's Triple Jump), Amit Panghal (Boxing), Nitu Ghanghas (Boxing).
