Actor-turned-politician C Joseph Vijay was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10 at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, marking a historic political shift in the state. His oath signals the end of nearly six decades of alternating rule by the DMK and AIADMK-led Dravidian blocs, with Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam forming the government with support from Congress, CPI, CPI(M), VCK and IUML.
